The Anstey Weekend of Dance
5th-7th September 2003

Anstey Royale Chalfont have teamed up with Anstey Morrismen and the Grand Union Folk Club for a weekend of dance, music and song.

The weekend will take place in the picturesque area of Charnwood Forest to the south of Loughborough. Our base will be the Education Centre attached to Beaumanor Hall which is situated in the old village of Woodhouse (where many of the houses are built of local Swithland Slate and granite – not wood as the name implies).
Beaumanor Hall
Anstey Royale Chalfont On Friday night there will be a simple supper and a song and tune session with Grand Union Folk at Beaumanor. Saturday will start with a bus tour and dancing in local villages. We will then move to Barrow upon Soar for lunch at a canal-side pub. This will be followed by a more relaxed afternoon of dancing and music around Barrow.

Buses will transport teams back to Beaumanor for tea, a shower and a change before returning to Barrow for a meal & ceilidh, or a music session for those who would prefer to rest their feet. A shuttle bus service will be running throughout the evening for anyone who would like an early night.
On Sunday, after de-camping, there will be a short drive through the ancient landscape of Charnwood Forest to Newtown Linford. Ample free parking is available at the rear of the Linford Ex Servicemen’s Club. It is then just a short walk to The Bradgate pub and Bradgate Park where we will dance. We will return to the Linford for drinks and sandwiches before fond farewells.Anstey Morrismen
